“I’m not a huge fan of I48s. Not because they have to be done in forty-eight hours, but because of the stress that comes along with it. The stress shaves days off my career if you will.” - Jorge Joseph Harrington

Synopsis: Jamzin and Iris are roommates. One night, they are relaxing and making cupcakes when Iris finds a manuscript between the couch cushions. As she begins to read from it, they are met with strangers that ask them for help and other things. Is this a coincidence?

Inspired by a drawing by Gabby Gillmore. When I saw the picture, I had to have it. I bought the rights from her and we had a conversation. We’re both Native Americans and we were talking about our ancestors when we got on the subject of horses and riders.

“A Native American would see the art on a horse and would know the rider. They would fear the rider. That is why they too wear war paint when they go out hunting or protecting.” - Jorge Joseph Harrington

“Kelpies don’t have riders. They’re Irish Spirit Legends that lure unsuspected travelers to their destruction.” - Gabby Gillmore

When Inspiration comes knocking, you have to answer the door. Money was exchanged for the picture and now we have a movie about a creepy drawing of a Kelpie named Cupcake.

There is a long story behind the I48 20th Anniversary Challenge, but that is a story for another day. The point is, I wrote nine pages and the I48 cut is only five minutes. I plan on releasing all of the footage of Cupcake The Kelpie, so we can grasp the full story and my vision.

On Father’s Day, we will be doing five pickup shots to bring this film to completion. You will be receiving the full version, shortly after the premiere on June 10th & 11th.

This film is Cory Paden Wilson’s Producer debut and I gotta say, I’m blessed to have him on set. He was so understanding and wanted the script to be all that it can be. He too is Native American. So, doing a film about a spirited horse made things more interesting.

Starring: Jen Potcher & Laine Conger. I was impressed by how much chemistry these two had on set. Everything works out for a reason and I love that these two hardworking actresses brought my characters to life.

Even though this is straying away from the Pain & Panic Universe, it feels nice to write a story that is it is own. You’ll know it’s a Pain & Panic Movie when Joey and I make a cameo in it. Scott Beals plays a part, in front and behind the camera. Amanda Woods does the makeup. And Sam Patzer is the Director of Cinematography.

…When thowes dissolve the snawy hoord
An’ float the jinglin’ icy boord
Then, water-kelpies haunt the foord
By your direction
And ‘nighted trav’llers are allur’d
To their destruction…”

We had a blast on set. There was a song that everyone kept singing and humming throughout the entire shoot that made it easy to create art. The song of the day was: "Flagpole Sitta" by Harvey Danger.

The tone of the movie was not to be a horror film or a thriller, but more to give you the creeps. I think we accomplished that. Everyone put their best foot forward and did it all barefoot. We earned this film and were up way past our bedtime.

“I’m proud of everyone and I know that everyone is tired, but we’ve gone past a point of no return and have to complete the film.” - Jorge Joseph Harrington

“We can’t turn in an unfinished film.” - Taber Johnson

“This is what is going to happen. You’re going to finally get to sleep and think all these bad thoughts about the director, but once you’re fully rested, you’re going to be like. “‘ I miss being on set. I love to be on set.’” - Jorge Joseph Harrington. Said in a comical whiny voice.

“You know, that sounds strangely accurate.” - Jen Potcher.

This was one of the many conversations we had while filming the I48.

The full nine minutes will be available soon. We’re wanting to buy the rights to the song:  "Flagpole Sitta" by Harvey Danger and add it to the film that we worked so hard to complete. If you want to support us by giving a donation, you can by clicking this link: Here
